Hello, Everyone! I thought it may be fun to show you what I do to get myself into the Captain She writing mood. It’s a little trick for me to just sit down and write after a busy day. So, I usually read over the last section I wrote. It helps remind me of where all my characters are at, the feelings they feel, and the words they’ve uttered.

I also repeat some phrases in my head like “The world is lost. Our souls hold a dream. One more rise.” or “They’re trusting me. Lives hanging in the balance. I am Captain She. I’m ready.” Phrases like these help me get into the form of writing and into the character of Captain She.

Most importantly, I have been trying to pray every time before I write. I ask God to help me to write a lot, to write fast, and that the words would flow. I aim to pray that He would give me the words to write and use it for His glory. At a writer’s conference, someone told me that “God’s got the audience in mind.” I want to keep each book I write centered on God. He’s got all the answers. And He’s the Author of all good!

I also watch a book trailer I made of Captain She 1: Her Revolution. The trailer acts as my mood board.

However, I have been thinking about making an actual board. So, today, I got on Canva and put together a Captain She 1: Her Revolution Mood Board.

So, what is the Captain mood? I’ll try to sum it up in three words:

Trust. Forever. Rise.

Intrigued? Excited? Confused? Let me know what you think and if you have any questions (I love questions) by simply jotting something in the “Leave a Reply” box below or in the Contact form above. Hope you’ve enjoyed this! Thanks for sticking with me, and have a blessed rest of your day! (Post script: if there is anything I can be praying for you for, feel free to contact me anytime. Prayer is so powerful and such a blessing (Jeremiah 33:3) FYI: If you write me in the Contact form above, I will be the only one to see your prayer request.) Until next time . . .
