Hey, There! Hope everything is going fantastic for you all. I just wanted to share something real quick. I’ve been going through a devotional about the texting world and prayer. I know, I literally just got off social media for the day 🙃. It’s everywhere. And thus, my prayer life has become a little choppy recently.
Isaiah 65:1 says, “I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ to nation that was not called by My name.
Jehovah has not been silent. He reveals himself. He opens his arms. He pursues us. He answers our prayers. He says, “Here I am here I am.”
The problem was that Israel–God’s people–did not stick around to listen to God, did not seek him, and did not hear Him because they were so caught up with sinful, pagan works. When they prayed to the one true God, they were bringing their requests–heal my brother, provide a new donkey, bless the food, etc. Nothing is wrong with asking these things of God, but they failed to walk with God and wait on Him for whatever the answer may be.
You see, prayer is bringing ourselves to God. Consider a face-to-face conversation versus a text message. We can go away deeper in person. Then shooting a dozen emojis or quick “pick up the milk.”
Look at the Psalms–a bunch of songs and prayers to God. Psalms, 40:1 declares, “I want waited patiently for the Lord and he inclined unto me and heard me cry.”
Not only did David cry to God, but he waits patiently. He is not leaving and busying himself in things that have nothing to do with God. No, David brings his heart to God and says, “Here. This is how I feel, this is how things look. Through it all you are God, you can do anything. You are all goodness, love, justice and power. So I’ll do what little acts of faithfulness. I can while you work things out. You give me a song.”
Treat God like God, because he is God and He is good.
Praying is not tossing requests at God. Praying is bringing your heart to God. No matter how short or long a prayer, God cares. The truth is in the good times and in the bad, God works things out for good. We always need him, so let us intentionally approach God, with all of our heart, because he is good. Don’t take this access with God for granted. Let him capture your heart. And draw near.
Before I go, if you have any prayer requests or even praises, please do not hesitate to contact me in the reply box or in the Contact page above. The Christian walk is a together thing. Let our lives be dosed in prayer and praise!

- Writing Tip 01: PacingRunning. For a short and stalky person like me, running is not my specialty. However, the characters I write love running. Okay, they don’t really have a choice–they must run because they’re being chased or in a battle or racing against time…. you get the gist. You see, running is about pacing yourself. Stamina. Endurance.… Read more: Writing Tip 01: Pacing
